Cas Mevissen works as legal advisor at Legal ICT’s Brussels office. His activities mostly consist of drafting and reviewing (international) ICT contracts and advising on privacy matters.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) at the Utrecht Law College (the law honours programme of the University Utrecht), Cas completed internships at ICTRecht (the Dutch office of LegalICT) and a large international law firm in the Netherlands.
During his studies, Cas was active as volunteer at a social service providing free legal and administrative aid to qualifying applicants. In the third year of his bachelor, he spent one semester at the Law School of the University of Auckland in New Zealand. At the end of his bachelor he was also part of a committee in a large European student association and worked at a legal consultancy firm in Amsterdam. His bachelor thesis reviewed the level of privacy protection of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield in light of the bulk collection of European citizen’s data by U.S. intelligence agencies.
In his spare time he likes to capture his surroundings with a camera, preferably in a foreign country.
